Quilters Quest Shop Hop
February 1st officallly kicks off this years' Quilters Quest shop hop sign up. Passports are printed and in the Bags. Registration is still only $5.00. Receive this year's 10th anniversary bag and passport. We are still 11 shops strong and busy planning projects, give aways and a good time for all. This year's shop hop will be held on Thurs, May 31st, Fri, June 1, Sat, June 2, and Sun. June 3rd.

What's New
We have been collecting quilts for the victims of the flooding from Irene and Lee. The Yardstick is making its' classroom available for those interested on Fridays during February and March. It is a great way to use your scraps and orphan blocks to make one or more quilts to donate to flood victims. Gather your quilting friends and have a quilt party either at The Yardstick or at your.home. Scrap quilts can be very attractive combined with like color families. We have several customers willing to donate their scraps for this project. Let us know if this is something you would like to participate in. It is a great way to meet fellow quilters.
We continue to add to our collection of Hoopsisters design collections. Anita Goodesign comes out with new design packs every month so we can stay current. Their newest intro is to project CD's with complete directions for example: purse using Heat & Shrink. Dakota Collectibles just updated the spinner with new product and newly mark downs.
We have Lapel Stick a temporary fix for gaps between buttons and collars that stick up. New patterns are arriving for small projects as well as some larger ones. New fabrics are arriving weekly, some novelties, some batiks, and new wide backings to name a few.
We have a new Husqvarna Viking quilting machine weighing only 15 lbs. We have been asking for this for some time. It is a nice lite weight machine with some great features for an affordable price.

We have also booked a Floriani event for the middle of August. There will be 2 morning sessions and on the 2nd day there will be a training session on software for those who attend. Learn about stabilizers, techniques and more. Always samples to view, always something new, reinforce what you learned in past seminars. Bring your questions, receive special pricing and have fun. Every year the presentation is different, with new products introduced to make your embroidery work easier.

The new embroidablock for 2012 by Hoopsisters is called "Earth to Quilters" which has several small projects such as a handbag and laptop bag are part of next years' projects. It looks very different from embroidablocks from past years. There will be an optional border CD available again this year. Plans are to start either April or May and meet every other month for 4 months. If you have a preference as to when to start and whether you would prefer to meet every other month or every month, please let me know. I will have more information soon.
